Executive Insights: Is the U.S. Experiencing a Manufacturing Renaissance?

L.E.K. Consulting found five key critical themes in the U.S. Manufacturing Study, which surveyed approximately 200 C-Suite manufacturing executives to understand what their plans were in terms of manufacturing footprint globally in the future. More than 68 % of respondents stated that they expected to see growth in manufacturing in their industry in the U.S. over the next five years. Over half of respondents said they do see a modest renaissance in the U.S. and that they will increase their investment into U.S. manufacturing.

Managing Director Carol Wingard of L.E.K.'s U.S. Industrials Practice, discusses the results of the survey across 10 U.S. manufacturing industries, including aerospace and defense equipment, chemicals, industrial components, automotive equipment and electronics. She addresses the five critical themes that are playing out across several manufacturing industries, and answers the question of whether or not the U.S. manufacturing revival is real.
