Manual Labor with Impact: L.E.K. at the Greater Boston Food Bank

Twice a year, L.E.K. Boston teams up with the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to assist in preparing meals for those in need around Eastern Massachusetts. The GBFB is one of the largest food banks in the country, providing nearly 48 million pounds of food just last year to feed as many as 545,000 people.

This time around, 20 L.E.K.ers worked in assembly lines around food conveyor belts to package nearly 3,425 pounds of food. This equated to 2,875 meals for the hungry population in and around Boston.

L.E.K. Boston will volunteer at the GBFB again this summer, but is also gearing up for the Pan Mass Challenge--the single biggest fundraising event for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. All of the L.E.K. offices participate in community service events that are unique to their geographic locations. However, the spirit for community involvement is shared company-wide.
